About the Artist
Sigrun Olsen graduated from the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1984.
After overcoming a serious illness in the 1990s, Sigrun´s artistic style changed. Her work became much more refined - it became spiritual.
From the years 1986-1998 during the summers, Sigrun and her husband, Thor Barddal, ran very successful spiritual health retreats on the west cost of Iceland. Most visitors where from Iceland but also a few international guests.
Sigrun has lived and worked in Germany, the USA and Portugal. Now once again in her native Iceland, she paints exclusively for the benefit of humanity, with the aim to inspire people to have their own spiritual realization.
As well as painting, Sigrun is the national coordinator of the Brahma Kumaris meditation centers in Iceland, one in the Capital, Reykjavik and one in the north of Iceland.
